The Sirenuse Hotel- Positano, Italy

 

If you look up at the hills of Positano, you would swear that the colorful buildings are tumbling down the cliffs.  But rest assured that they are all very much secure and many have been there for centuries.  The Sirenuse Hotel, opened to the public 1951 has become  one of the most stunning and glamorous hotels along the famed Amalfi Coast.

The rooms have a contemporary feel but a flavor of a glamorous bygone era – with a mix of modern art and antique furniture.  Vaulted ceilings are contrasted against colorful handmade vietri floor tiles.  Most will afford the full flavor Positano with a terrace or balcony overlooking the blue Mediterranean Sea where you will be lulled to sleep by the gentle lapping sounds of the waves.  Modern amenities like i-Pod stations and pre- loaded sounds are available in every room as well as WI FI, flat screen TV’s and DVD players and high speed internet access. The hotel includes wonderful lush grounds,and a fabulous cliffside pool and spa.  The Sirenuse Spa was designed by Gae Aulenti. Her vision is modern and essential.  The spa offer massages and face and body treatments using AVEDA’s aromatic essential oils, natural products and techniques.

The restaurant, LaSponda has been awarded a star by the prestigious Michelin Guide.  Dinner is lit by four hundred candles that create an incredible romantic atmosphere.  The cuisine uses fresh local ingredients and is inspired by Mediterranean tradition. There is a very extensive collection of Italian wines.  Your dinner is a magical experience with live musicians playing Mandolin and guitar.

During the summer, guests dine al fresco on the terrace with stunning view over the hillsides of Positano and the sea beyond.
